Understand how Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) can help your company achieve operational improvements in business processes, including:
• Order-to-cash cycle
• Shipping and receiving
• Warehouse and transportation
• Inventory management
• Product activity (sales)

EDI enables the computer-to-computer exchange of business documents between companies using a standard format, regardless of the kind of computer or software trading partners use. It “bridges the gap” between companies and systems, and allows efficient and accurate electronic commerce communications.

Problems you can solve with EDI:
For example, with EDI, a company’s computer system can generate and transmit a purchase order to a supplier and receive a computer-generated confirmation of receipt from the supplier’s system in a matter of minutes – not days.

What You'll Learn:
• What is EDI and how it can add value to your company’s operations
• Basics of the X12 Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards
• How to implement an EDI program
• The technology behind EDI, with an in-depth review of data elements, segments, transaction sets and codes
• EDI supported business processes
• The difference between the 12 Standards and EDI implementation guidelines

An assessment is administered during class hours for review purposes only. Individuals who attend and complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion within three weeks of course completion. You’ll also receive a virtual badge to add to your LinkedIn profile or share via social media.

Who Should Attend:
EDI coordinators, EDI specialists, business owners who have been requested to transact using EDI, or business function owners, including company buyers or accounts payable/receivable
